"The desert covers over 50% of Israel's land area. Dusty reddish brown mountains and hills are scarred by dry creeks and steep craters slope into the vast arid space. Days are hot and nights are cold and water is hard to come by. However, even in this harsh drought-stricken environment, rain clouds sometimes appear, carrying inside them the force of life and rejuvenation. When it rains, it pours and when it pours, huge amounts of water rush through the dry river beds and flood the area. What rejuvenates the desert is putting everything in its path in great danger. Burrows are filled with water and collapse upon their inhabitants and slow animals can be swept in the strong currents. This year a flood of Egyptian Mastigures were flowing our way..."
